Farmhouse Charm

I've been bouncing back and forth between dozens of projects and realized that April 30th is going to sneak up on me before I know it. That is the date for the 2nd Annual Vintage Farmhouse Yard Sale and grand opening for my "Shop" (if I can get my garage done in time). All this snow is kind of a bummer. So in between my work on my kitchen, living room and dining room I decided to start on some of the furniture pieces that are going to be in the sale. I've had this old cabinet for about a month and it's been sitting in my bedroom. Much to the chagrin of dear hubby who has stubbed his toes on it more than once. I figured if I can at least get it done and moved out of the way I will have one project down and one happy hubby. It was brown...and just overall pathetic. I adore the chippy shabby distressed farmhouse charm look but it is not a look I use much of in my house. I figured that was my best bet, I won't be as tempted to keep it! It's not done yet of course (is anything ever really done around here?) I want to put a curtain in it and will have to ramsack my stash (er, hoard??) of fabric. I don't even sew and I have an entire walk in closet for fabric! How sweet will it look with a soft pink curtain? It's turning out pretty darn cute. Tons of distressing...I might even cover the shelves in this gorgeous Martha Stewart wrapping paper I have had forever and a day. It's a pale pink with gold design.

  3. I am hoping to come to your sale, with a truck! Sounds like a fun time. I didn't get to candle making today. I did other things instead...like piddle around. Maybe over the weekend. I love that shabby look.
