Farmhouse Charm

I've been bouncing back and forth between dozens of projects and realized that April 30th is going to sneak up on me before I know it. That is the date for the 2nd Annual Vintage Farmhouse Yard Sale and grand opening for my "Shop" (if I can get my garage done in time). All this snow is kind of a bummer. So in between my work on my kitchen, living room and dining room I decided to start on some of the furniture pieces that are going to be in the sale. I've had this old cabinet for about a month and it's been sitting in my bedroom. Much to the chagrin of dear hubby who has stubbed his toes on it more than once. I figured if I can at least get it done and moved out of the way I will have one project down and one happy hubby. It was brown...and just overall pathetic. I adore the chippy shabby distressed farmhouse charm look but it is not a look I use much of in my house. I figured that was my best bet, I won't be as tempted to keep it! It's not done yet of course (is anything ever really done around here?) I want to put a curtain in it and will have to ramsack my stash (er, hoard??) of fabric. I don't even sew and I have an entire walk in closet for fabric! How sweet will it look with a soft pink curtain? It's turning out pretty darn cute. Tons of distressing...I might even cover the shelves in this gorgeous Martha Stewart wrapping paper I have had forever and a day. It's a pale pink with gold design.

  1. All of your design ideas for the cabinet sound wonderful! Can't wait to see what you do with it.

  2. Make sure you take lots of pictures of your garage in April. Looking forward to seeing all the finish furniture.

  3. I am hoping to come to your sale, with a truck! Sounds like a fun time. I didn't get to candle making today. I did other things piddle around. Maybe over the weekend. I love that shabby look.
