I picked up 20 vintage galvanized sap buckets today which will be going with me to Springfield Ohio for the Flea Market.
Yay!! Love these so so much!
So my question to you is this, if you were going to buy one, would you be more inclined to buy them as they are or with a chalkboard front on them to write things?

I like the look of this one I found searching Etsy.
I personally like the chalkboard fronts, but just not sure if people would prefer it or not.
I'm kind of like, seriously in love with galvanized buckets right now and have been searching the web for fun projects and pretty photos!
I would prefer the plain ones, but that's just me. I love these buckets. How cool to have so many. Have fun! Robbie
ReplyDeleteI would want a bucket that did not have the chalkboard paint on it. I like to do my own thing. Good find, by the bye!
ReplyDeletei like the chalkboard ones, but i know i would buy the plain before i would buy the chalkboard.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great find to find so many! I love galvanized buckets as well. How about if you fixed up a couple with the paint for inspiration to shoppers? For the majority of them, though, I think I would keep them plain. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI'd do some of them up for sure. Not everyone wants to do this stuff themselves. Nice buy! ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteI would buy one of each, chalkboard and plain. So make some chalkboard and leave some plain. Wish I were nearby. I'm your new follower.
ReplyDeleteI think some of each, love the chalkboard idea!!
ReplyDeleteI would like it with the chalkboard but would make some and leave some ...perhaps painting a black number on the non chalkboard ones.
ReplyDeleteI would like one of each! I live in Colorado now but I grew up in Vermont and I wish I could find some of these for sure!

You have so many - go with both (half and half), maybe charge an extra $2 for the chalkboard ones. Awesome pick.
ReplyDeletePersonally, since I like to do something like the chalkboard thing myself, I would like it better plain. Then again if you did the chalkboard thing and wrote something cute..that might draw me in.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm good question. I think that because they appear to be rather large, I would prefer them without the chalkboard. Little ones that you can line up on a kitchen counter or window sill would be really cute with the chalkboard though. If they're actually that small, I say go for it! With bigger ones, I would probably use them for plants so the chalk writing would most likely just wash off with watering. Argh! I'm kind of undecided - aren't I helpful?
ReplyDeleteWhichever you decide, I am sure they will be a hit at the market! Hugs, Leena
I would prefer a plain one. :)
ReplyDeleteI would buy them as they are to me that is the charm.
ReplyDeleteWell, I like it both ways. But if one had a chalkboard front, couldn't you just turn it around if you didn't like it?
ReplyDeleteI have a vintage galvanized bucket in my latest post!
I would wrap one with burlap then lace on top of that. maybe a cute vintage something....flower ect.
ReplyDeletelove the buckets:)

Great find! I love buckets and pails. I would do a little of both!
ReplyDeleteI personally would rather have them plain . So I could do my own thing on them . But everyone doesn't have a vision , so do some of both !
ReplyDeleteDarling- I prefer them plain- but do love chalkboard tags!! Thanks for sharing at Feathered Nest Friday!!
ReplyDeletei like them both ways, maybe do a combo of them. i'm sure folks with like them either way. great find!
ReplyDeleteI prefer them plain but you could offer some with chalkboard paint. They are awesome!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! I love the galvanized look as well. We used these for our centerpieces at our wedding (smaller versions, but still the same). I agree with most everyone else, make some of both! They are sure to sell well either way. Good luck!
ReplyDeletei Love the chalkboard front BUT would probably only do about 1/3 of them, i'm afraid you will limit your market too much if you do all of them. besides it doesn't look like that's something that takes much time, bet you could "whip up" a few more if you needed to. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love them both ways....depends on where I would use it. These are GREAT! I would do some of each....then everyone is happy :) Fabulous Find!

hi,
ReplyDeleteI live in Washington State and just picked up 50 cherry picking buckets! Love the galvanized look too. I was just wondering how the buckets sold at your flea market and what you found to be a good price in order to sell them.
Thanks!
Nicci
