Candle Making

I've been in the mood to make candles. And I wanted to put to use some of the blue mason jars {see previous post}
Michaels has 4lb bags of soy wax for something like $19.99 {I think, don't quote me} but I used a 40% off coupon to get it cheaper.

I added lavender and rosemary oils to scent them.
I also used some vintage glassware for some of them.
{Still haven't trimmed the wicks, and it's night so the lighting is not fantastic}
But I had a lot of fun making these and still have a ton of soy wax left.

  9. I bet they smell really great! I want to try my hand at doing this. I looked into supplies just last week and may order some wax and essential oils. I loved the scents that Donna used when I bought some from her at Horton's. I even have similar cut glass sherbets to yours! :-) Sue

  12. I've been wanting to do this with my beeswax. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. I have the wick already purchased and the beeswax waiting for me! Do you put the metal things on the bottom of your wicks or did you just put the wicks in without them. Hey I thought of you the other day when I was at Midland ANtique mall. Have you been there? They had this one corner that we called the Catholic corner. Candles, religious candle holders (those tall glasses that they put religious candles in). I don't know if you saw my post on it, but I put pics of them on my blog. It's a fun place. Too expensive for re-sale but fun to buy for yourself. See you Saturday.

  13. So beautiful! And I love the fragrance combination you chose. (I make candles and love scents!) Though I sell most of my candles in jelly jars, I actually just picked up several footed, cut glass bowls *exactly* like yours a few days ago with the intent of making candles in them, too! :)
