Kid Free Weekend!

And you know what that means.....time to relax? Nah, not me. I was up all hours of the night working on my tiny tot terror's bedroom. It's seems every room in this house is a current work in progress. Some day, maybe....hopefully.....I will have the rooms done completely for everyone to see. But as it is right now I am pretty proud with how the room is coming along. I pulled out some vintage trims and pink shimmery fabric and went to work. Since there is an awful lot of pink here and it is what I spent an entire Saturday doing...I am linking up to How Sweet The Sound for Pink Saturday http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/
The dresser was a garage sale find several years ago $7, sticker on the dresser was a discount at Home Goods $4, Tree Goodwill $2, Round table $3, Silver Spray paint discounted $1, 3 down pillows $1 each, Tutu tree skirt made by mother in law, Headboard $5 at Salvation Army,Tole Wall Hanger $1, Bird $2 from Michaels, "I" frame made from junk I had around, Pink Simply Shabby Chic curtains on the cornice thing $2 Goodwill, Cornice thing (what is that thing called anyways?) $2, Cherub lamp and shade $2, Toy Box yard sale find $3, Chair Salvation Army $4, Pink paint $20 Ace Hardware, Fabric & trim $3 Goodwill Outlet....so around $64....which isn't bad considering it was all purchased here and there over time.

  1. I don't have children, but it was not by choice. So I consider myself fortunate that three of my nieces enjoy spending time at Aunt Cindy's. I also watch two boys. So I do understand having time without kids! You can actually get something done without an interruption. The bedroom looks great. And, funny thing, last night I was browsing through a craft book and I saw a pattern for potholders. I thought to myself, I wonder if anyone would like potholders for a handmade Christmas item!

  2. Well even though your not finished it's beautiful. My whole house is pink, blue, mint green, all pastel colours. Your little bench is adorable, and that little tree perfect.
I remember those days when hubby and I would get away and leave the kids with the sitter, now they are young adults, and it still feels good to have them away : )
    Merry happy Pink Sat. Nicki.
