Doing Irish Onion Soup the Right Way

I've mentioned before that I am by no means a food blogger, and while that remains true I am really enjoying food lately.

I've always loved to cook, and I've always loved to eat, but I've never been very adventurous on the food cooking front.
In fact up until last month I'd never even used the broil setting on my oven.

But we are on a food journey that involves more organics, more clean eating, and all around more tasty things.

I'm not going to tell you you have to eat only clean, only organic, only blah blah blah.
We eat a lot of stuff that isn't anywhere to be found on a healthy list, but we are trying to eat better most of the time.

Anyway so on to the adventurous part of food, I was sitting here this morning contemplating lunch because there isn't a lot of food in the house and grocery day is tomorrow and then I saw it....

A recipe for Irish Onion Soup.

Well I love all things Irish and I love Onion Soup and some how miraculously I had all of the ingredients!!
This stuff was seriously delicious. I'm talking flavorful soup and bread and gooey cheese and yes folks I even used the broil setting on the oven!

I found the recipe over at Tasting Table
They are on Facebook and Pinterest too. I'm pretty sure I will be trying more recipes that I find there!!

    1. I'm pretty sure it could be made without the whiskey or beer, just use more broth. And the baguettes probably aren't necessary either...but it is really good with some crusty bread on top.

    1. I had two bowls and saved one for Dave. He was in his bedroom slurping it up making om nom nom noises.
