Christmas On My Mind

Two posts in one day.....trying to make up for my lack of posting perhaps.
Before I fell ill I was working on things for markets and most definitely gearing up towards Christmas.

I kept seeing all these cute "snow globes" made out of mason jars on Pinterest. Then I found a bunch of white bottle brush trees. I didn't want to use my supply of clear mason jars because we use those a LOT, so I broke into my stash of blue Ball jars.

A little glue, a little faux snow, some vintage silver tinsel, and voila!
The wreath behind it came from a stretch of silver tinsel I bought from a sweet elderly couple at a yard sale last weekend. I wound it around a wire wreath form and glued on some pink and aqua mercury glass balls.

It's probably safe to say I am going with pink, aqua, and silver this year!

  1. Oh I have a collection of blue jars too and can gain enough courage to use them in any project. I think the snow globe turned out nice in the blue jar !!!!!

  2. I'm itching for some Christmas crafting too! I have some mason jars put aside for some Anthropologie knock-offs with the bottle brush trees. I can't help myself but once I see holiday stuff in the stores, it puts me in the mood!

  3. Pink, aqua and silver are my favorite Christmas colors too. This year I am thinking of changing up the tree a bit and doing all white ornaments. We'll see how it goes but I am quite excited about what i thin the tree will look like. :)

  5. Yes it's the same here. Christmas is just a round the corner. As soon as the pumpkins go out comes all my decorations. Can't wait. I know I bought new decorations on sale last season.

  10. I never thought to use blue jars. I made some last year with the clear jars. One was with pastel colors and the other with the traditional Red and green. It depends what mood i'm in. Usually I decorate in pastel colors but last year it was cold and I was bored so I put up 3 trees, One is white, one in pink and one in green with traditional ornaments. I don't think I will be doing that this year. It was fun putting up but not putting away. take care, Darlene
