Mothers Day is Next Month

Do you ever wake up and just know right away that you are going to have an emotional day?
This blog post is about my best friend Lori.
This year for Mothers Day I plan to celebrate our friendship.
Lori and her family have been the biggest supporters in my life and I truly believe I would not be where I am at if not for her.
When I met Lori 6 years ago, I was going through a separation, living on a bad side of town {the area I was born and raised in and never had the courage to leave} in a house that was falling down around my ears {literally, there was a 9x5 foot hole in the ceiling in my bedroom, among many other issues}. College was not a word I heard growing up, I barely survived High School, and at that point in my life still had no idea of what my goals were or even if I had any.

From the beginning Lori complimented me on my decorating. For the first time in my life I was hearing words of positive encouragement. Then I began meeting her family and they too had nothing but words of positive encouragement. I started to believe in myself, to imagine I could do more, be more.

Everything I am and everything I have done thus far is because of the wonderful wonderful encouragement from my best friend.
