First impressions can sometimes be a little scary.....
It's hard to imagine how you can possibly transform an old house into something you love when you don't have the money to put into it.
It's hard to imagine how you can possibly transform an old house into something you love when you don't have the money to put into it.
But the power of paint, and free things that can be easily transformed....well it can do amazing things!
Add in some pretty things to give it your personal touch and ta-da.
I rarely pass on something just because it doesn't look like what I want.
When I first saw this house two years ago, I knew with the right amount of elbow grease and love that it would be something I would never want to leave.
I still have a lot I want to get done, but each day this old house grows on me a little more.
I LOOOVE your farmhouse! You have made it so romantic and beautiful! What a fun old girl to "dress up".
ReplyDeleteI've seen this house first hand and I will tell all of you Nikki does such an amazing job with transforming thing the house became a HOME what beautiful photos You are lucky to live in such a great old farmhouse....
ReplyDeleteGood ol paint is the cheapest and yet most dramatic design tool we have.
ReplyDeleteI love the built-in cabinets in your old house.
I moved into my old farmhouse 20 years ago, on a budget as well, so I know where you are coming from. Transforming an old house into your dream cottage is a wonderful and sometimes draining, adventure. I see the possibilities written all over your house. It looks like a four-square with a hipped roof? It is very similar to mine. Have fun!
Oh I bet it does~it looks so homey and pretty already! Great job on your house projects, it looks darling.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see those photos, I'm wondering why you're not featured in a magazine or book, however me thinks that day is coming, very very beautiful!

I normally don't go for the white "airy" look. But I will honestly say that I love the way you've done your rooms. Something about them really draws me in. I love your house :)

OH . . . big sigh. I would take a house like this in a heartbeat. Nothing new (even a new house TRYING to look old) can compare to these beauties -- you are doing a wonderful job of adding to the charm!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful. I grew up in a farmhouse from 1840 and my mom and dad transformed that place! I miss having a farmhouse to make my own, xoxo
ReplyDeleteI love what you have done with your home on a budget, it's simply gorgeous! What color/shade white do you use on your walls?-Thanks Tonya
