Vintage Finds and Feathered Spies

If you are anything like me, the call of the yard sales are like a siren song that lures you in, no matter what.

It doesn't even matter that I am having my own sale tomorrow to purge....I couldn't help myself....so I went to a few yard sales this morning.
Really I am glad I did...out with the old in with the new, right?

I bought 2 garden chairs, a lovely round table cloth and a petite chandelier all for $20!

I love love a pretty scrolly garden chair!

The petite chandelier matches a larger one I have (the one i was hoping to have in my kitchen someday!)

These 1960's/70's Made in Spain chandeliers are so great because they can be found so often and for very cheap (never ever pay more than $50 for one though. You can find them cheaper!! Both of mine were $5 each)

So yeah about my feathered spies....it's been a long time since I have posted about my cute little yellow chicks.
Well they aren't yellow and they certainly aren't little anymore!

They like to perch on the bench outside my kitchen window and stare at me while I am in there cooking.

My dad got out of his truck with candy for the kids the other day and the chickens came running and stared at the bags like "Whatcha got for me pappaw?? Huh Huh Huh??"
He said "well they are almost like pets aren't they?" I had to laugh, yes they are like pets, but even more like family.

We ♥ our chickens!!

  8. I know what you mean about the lure of the yard sales! Earlier this year I was participating at a community yard sale and spent more in the first hour of the yard sale than I sold of my stuff. I was in the red for a while, but finally moved into the black. Whew!

Your finds are fabulous! Love that little chandy!
