My blog, I think, is a lot like me.
There's not really a set in stone style.
Sometimes it's totally disorganized and a little A.D.D
When I started blogging I had heard that you should pick a design and decide what your blog will mainly consist of and stick with it. (Example: is it a decorating blog, a crafting blog, a family blog, a food blog, an inspiration blog. Are you modern, country, shabby?)
I am unable to do this. In real life I am all over the place and I love a bit of everything. I enjoy decorating, re-doing furniture, crafting, baking, showing things I enjoy on the great big web.
I live in an old farmhouse that is farmy on the outside with chickens and a garden, the inside is a mishmash of white and clean, French and ornate, and Shabby and chic.
I blog to keep track of my world and the things I do that aren't typically noticed or recorded in every day life. Our adventure into life.
I don't blog a lot about my children because they are young and it is their private life, though they are the BIGGEST part of my world.
So to narrow my definition of my blog down to one sentence.....
Well, it's my world in pictures and words.
Anyways, if you didn't already know, you may be wondering what prompted this post, Modern Country Style
is having a "Define Your Blog" link party!
Hello Nicki! So nice to meet you! I'll be linking up later, but I just wanted to say that I love your style. And I LOVE that you put a mirror above your stove--I've never seen anything like that before. :)
ReplyDeleteCame over from Sarah's ... I agree, life is all over the board, how can our blogs not be also!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to going back and reading your older posts...I love your style and this just seems like a cheery place to visit!

Oh, that chick is just too sweet! Aaaah! Your house is LOVELY! I really like the mix of different looks that you have - but it still comes through as you own special style. Gorgeous!

Hi Nicki!
ReplyDeleteYour home is loaded with personality and style. I'd have to agree with, Shelly, I've never seen a mirror used in a kitchen, but it really works! I have a bit of decorating A.D.D. so blogging reels me in :) You have a lovely home, as well as your kids. Enjoyed stopping by!
XO,
Michelle

you home is gorgeous, and so are your babies! his little grin is a heart stopper!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I am a bit ADD in my blog, too! My other blog, which I had for 3 years but quit, was a horse blog. But I found that I kept posting home decor stuff on there! ;-) Then my family and I opened Jazz so I decided we needed a blog for it. But I like to share some of my other interests and personal life (although I'm still pretty private) because I think it's interesting to learn about the people you are inspired by or buying from.

Hi Nicki ~ so nice to meet you! Thanks for stopping by my blog! Your blog is amazing...love all of the white and your home seems so airy and beautiful! You MUST tell me where you found your gorgeous white ruffled bedspread on your bed! I am in love with it and have been looking for something similar for the summer. Do tell! ps. I love your sentence that your blog is the most like you . . . this make for an authentic blog, which I really enjoy.
And what a lovely blog you have, so happy that you write and post pictures by feelings and what you are doing rather than a set format....makes blogging more fun!

I agree with you on picking a design and sticking with it.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't do it!
I could barely define my blog...that was hard.
I love reading yours.
I am unable to do this either! And who made the rules of da Blog anyway? *winks* I think there are many of us who have many varied passions and our blogs and lives are constantly evolving. You said it all very eloquently and in a heartfelt way. I am so glad I discovered your Beautiful Blog through the Modern Country Style defining Blog Party.

I just love your blog... the photos are beautiful. I love anything vintage and farm... so you have found a new follower in me! I also choose not to blog about my son as i am very protective of him, but he is my life. Children are such a blessing! Thank you so much for sharing!
