In our family my little sister Shannon got all the dog lover genes and I got all of the cat lover genes.
Four years ago she adopted a pom from a rescue. He was a badly abused pup. I remember the first time I saw him I believe my first words were "What is that?" He had no hair on his behind and bad nerves.
She named him Bear Bear.
Bear Bear and her other pom Shayla became her children.
She gave him tons of love until he came out of his shell and became a social fellow.
Today during what should have been a routine dental procedure at the vet Bear Bear passed away.
My sister is completely devastated.
Even I, with my non dog loving genes am crying.
Bear Bear was a prince of pups and will be missed.
Nicki. I'm so sorry to hear this.
ReplyDeleteOh no.....I am so very sorry, my heart goes out to your sister. Our animals are our children, so I know how she feels. The last time I had my girls teeth cleaned, I worried all day....because you hear of these unfortunate things happening.
ReplyDelete((((((Hugs)))))
heart felt wishes i cant imagine how she feels my prayers are with her xoxoxox
ReplyDeleteThat is sooo sad, tell your sister how sad I am to hear about Bear bear.
ReplyDeleteI had my small dogs teeth cleaned, and now doubt I would ever do that again.
I am so sorry for your sister. I will keep her in my prayers. I am an animal lover through and through and mean this with my whole heart.
ReplyDeleteIt is a blessing that Bear Bear lived with lots of love and she rescued him. I know it doesn't help now but it is wonderful he had a loving home, so many animals do not.
Tell your sister about Rainbow Bridge. Google it and if she wants, she can add Bear Bear's name. A wonderful blog friend let me know about it when our beloved Gigi passed last September.
My heart's with your sister tonight.

ReplyDeleteThat is TERRIBLE!!!! I feel for you and especially your sister. Send her my best wishes. It's something you never get over... like losing a family member. Prayers coming her way.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for her loss~ this comes a short time after my twin sister lost her Golden Retriever after almost fourteen years.. It was a hard day for our whole family.. So can totally relate... On a brighter note I enjoy your blog and have it on my favorites.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for all of the incredibly thoughtful comments. My sister has been reading along and truly appreciates your thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteThat is so sad. I just found your blog, and this brought tears to my eyes. It makes me want to force my little pom to come in from outside right now so I can cuddle her.
ReplyDeleteAwww I feel so sorry for your sister and for that little pom. At least she gave it a good home for awhile. Why would anyone abuse an animal. When we got our little Dixie Doodle he had no hair on his back end and he was full of fleas and skinny. Now he is so full of hair that he sheds like crazy. Tell your sister to go rescue another dog. It will help. And it will help the other dog not be so lonely.
