Start Of The Dining Room

I got brave and went white with a dining room chair just to see how it would look. There wasn't a whole lot of choice since all I had in my left over paint stash was white. But I am really happy with how it looks. I still want to do some sort of antique looking glaze so it isn't soooo bright and because I have small kids who leave smudges (hee hee hoping a glaze will hide some of the smudges" I have 6 panels of beige linen curtains that someone gave me last year that I am using to recover the seats. As you can see from the before picture, just about anything would have been an improvement. I love my table and chairs for their gorgeous curves but they have been neglected since long before I even got them off of Craigslist a couple of years ago. It's about time I do something with them, right?! Anyways this little project is costing me nothing which is always a fabulous bonus! I STILL need to do something with that mirror in the background. I bought it like that...paint all over the mirror.

  2. Fabulous! Love the curviness too! Yeah a glaze would soften it! Good job! See once you start it gets contagious! Hugs,Traci

  3. I have similar dining room chairs. I've had them a cream color with amber glaze. I want to go white but I'm afraid of it being too bright and cold looking. But after seeing yours, I might just have to get the paint brush out soon. I looks lovely.
