One Day Closet Make Over

Let me start off by telling you about my organization skills...........
They aren't great!
Which can be clearly seen in this photo of my closet that I have been using for clothes AND craft supplies.
The more I shoved into the closet, the harder it was to find anything, and the longer it took just to do a simple project.
I thought to myself "Nicki, it's time to make a change!" and started pouring through photos of custom closets.
Umm, hello! How fabulously neat {and organized!!} is this?

The closets in our house are a little weird and my daughters room happens to have three, one of which contained mainly junk that got tossed in.

So I cleared all of the junk out, cut the cable cord to nowhere and grabbed a gallon of left over paint and some wallpaper I picked up this summer at a yard sale.
I had an old media cart out in the garage that I spray painted white. The wheels make it easy to move from room to room for different projects.
The containers are a mixture of new and vintage.
The large metal  tubs on top hold all of my party supplies like tissue paper, crepe paper, balloons, bags, and small boxes.
Plastic see through containers are PERFECT for small things like beads, scrapbooking supplies, glitter, and ribbon.

An old galvanized bucket holds all of my gift wrap and wallpapers.
A wire basket is handy for large scrapbook supplies. I like anything that you can see through the sides.
It makes it so much easier when looking for a specific item.

Here is a side by side before and after. I'm honestly pretty astonished at the change.
Good closet design can make a world of difference!

    1. I've been known to throw things in a pile on the side of the bed furthest from the door and throw a sheet over it when company comes! Messiness is a side effect of the creative mind!

    1. We are trying not to focus on the negative right now and go on with every day stuff like we normally would. We go month to month in November until she decides to sell. It breaks my heart but unless we won the lottery, we can't afford her asking price.
