I finally bought a new camera and am still trying to figure out all of the bells and whistles. I have to say though, even without knowing how to work this thing I am soooo happy to be taking pics with something other than a phone!
Today I want to tell you about why I LOVE Miss Mustard Seed white wax.
I went into the village last Saturday to pop into one of my favorite stores Fivethirty Resale
and pick up some furniture wax.
Well low and behold they had white! They have the usual clear and antique but I mean come on....you've seen pics of my house, I HAD to try out the white.
I painted this secretary a while back {old photo via phone. EEK!}
And I love it, but it's a little too dark for me.
Insert Miss Mustard Seed White Wax
What I love about this in comparison to just giving furniture a whitewash is that you are adding a layer of protection to your base. And unlike whitewash where if you get to heavy handed you are stuck with it, wax is easy to play with. Glob it on around where you want more and spread it out.
I love the difference!

An added bonus of this wax is that I can use it indoors!! No foul noxious odor!! Just a light hint of lavender {How fantastic is that?} Plus it is less expensive than other wax brands.
Just right!
If you are local you can purchase Miss Mustard Seed Furniture Wax {and Milk Paint which I also adore} at Fivethirty Resale
located in downtown Zionsville, Indiana.
Stay tuned this evening for Creative Things Thursday!!

ReplyDeleteWow - I had no idea - ( I usually mix a bit of old white paint into my clear wax when I want to lighten things up - but this is already done !!!

I would not have believe white wax would make such a difference! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI really want to try this now--I didn't even know it existed! I love that you say it smells good too :)
ReplyDeleteAs a MMS retailer I want to say THANKS for such a glowing endorsement! The new White Wax can really give that Gustavian look to furniture without the uneven look of a whitewash, just as you pointed out! I think it is going to be a great seller for Miss Mustard Seed!! Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely!

ReplyDeleteCan't wait to try this out!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going through your old posts and had to say love the look. I bought some of MMS's white wax a while ago and hadn't the faint idea why I bought it. Now, seeing your creations, I know what to do with it.
