Guest Post from Ricki Jill

Hello, I am Ricki Jill from Art @ Home writing a guest post for Nicki!

When Nicki asked me to write a guest post (after I volunteered, of course  ;P  ), I was thinking: What would be a fun idea for a post?  I so admire Nicki for her ability to make her home look stunning with very little money.  Soon I was inspired by an article in Country Living UK September 2012.  Here is my inspiration:

This is from Country Living's Simple Pleasures column.  I love the colorful teacup candles!

I bought this Spode teacup and saucer from a flea market.  I thought the colors would be perfect for an autumn candle.  I melted down some small orange, pumpkin-scented candles in a saucepan.  I carefully removed the wicks, placed one wick in the teacup, and poured the wax.

Viola!

Now that I know how to make them, I wish I had a couple more teacups!  I like the grouping in Country Living.

Until next time...

Blessings!

  12. You did a wonderful job!
I have this in the works already too! My sister is pouring me one with one of my garage-sale find tea-cups.
She is also going to teach me to make candles for myself. Can't wait!
They are perfect in these tea-cups!
    Enjoy!
