Statues and an Old Medicine Cabinet

I acquired a couple of religious statues at the Outlet last week. One is occupied Japan and the other is a Goebel. I listed the Goebel on Etsy and then immediately took her down tonight after another quick Outlet trip revealed this marvelous old chippy medicine cabinet in shades of white and pastel green! I also found another old standing lamp with a marble ball in the base and little claw feet legs....stay tuned for the fab make over I have planned for it!

These babies are keepers! They look so awesome in the box.

In other news....ya'll are going to think I am crazy but after a month of living with it, I hate HATE the black top table and blue grey on the dining room walls. Mainly because I can't seem to match anything up with it. Omg....I feel a re-re-do coming on.........

Dawn~ I know...I'm crazy. I had no intentions of keeping it but as it so often happens I think of some perfect purpose or display and...well I kept her! Couldn't help myself!

  6. Maybe your walls need a little less blue in them and a little more grey green? Look at my walls and see if you like that color. It is a warm version of grey and I love it. Goes good with pinks, blues and greens. Ben Moore #1515.

  7. Maybe the black top on the table is too harsh. Have fun and paint it aqua or pink!! YOu can always repaint it...

I realized it might be the black top table when one night at dinner I found a tiny chip in the paint and started picking obsessively at it until there was a 3x3 inch spot missing the paint!
I feel like a crazy person. I really liked it at first because it was different from my norm....turns out too different. The room just seems really cold to me.I just my try pink on the table top. It might even out the grey on the walls somehow so I don't have to paint them too!

Isn't it just terrible that I want to change it? It's not so much the look itself as it is the inability to match things to it.

  17. I have that same Goebel statue of Mary....my grandmother gave it to me in the 50's. I still love it!

  18. sweet cabinet. As for the dining room do you have any pics to post? I see a dining room link in your right side bar but don't really see grey/blue walls. I would think just changing the wall color would help anyways.

  19. I thought the blue gray walls looked terrific. But then, your the one who has to live with 'em. ;) Your chippy-paint vintage cabinet looks awesome filled with the statues. I can understand why you took the one off Etsy - it's an asset to this little vignette.

Thanks for linking to the party. And I would love to have you join me for "Funny Faux Pas Follies" starting March 1st. Click the pic in my sidebar for details.

By the way, have you entered my latest giveaway?

I love the color, but it's a small room and it makes it look a little dark to me. Plus I'm having trouble matching new fabrics and bric a brac to it. Idk I might leave it a bit longer and see if it grows on me!

I will be sure to check out your next party.

    Thanks Liz!
