Rewind

I was sitting here this morning listening to some of my favorite songs from way {WAY} back in the day when it occurred to me that sometimes we really NEED to go back to our classics.

Not what the "world at large" would consider classics, but what we personally/individually consider our classics.

At one point in time or another we decided on our favorite things {food, music, crafts, decor, clothing, ect ect ect}, and our favorite things remain favorites for a reason.

I feel like I've been chasing the "what next" a lot lately. What's new and fresh and trendy and what can I do next?!

It's taken a lot of the creative flow out of me!!!

So it was perfect this morning that I had the urge to go back and listen to some of the music that I have always loved. I was able to put it into a perspective of sorts and take away a lesson from it that translates to so much more than just music.

  1. Wow- so well said.
Whether it's a fresh loaf of homemade bread or a book you loved as a younger self....this really makes a lot of sense. <3

  2. I've done this recently too. While sometimes those songs seem silly from our new perspective, they really bring back good feelings.

  4. I love this post. Sounds like you have been doing some thinking lately. Maybe after this weekend, you will have some time to create some of your classics and get out of the whirlwind a little bit.
