The room I thought I'd never finish is pretty much done.
It's a real challenge when you want to change a total look, but don't have the money to do it with.
She decided on blue, pink, and green, so we went with white walls to be able to add pops of color since she is 12 and her colors are subject to change. {If you have a preteen, you probably know what I am talking about here!}
This is the finished room. Lucky me, I am a paint hoarder lover. My dad brings me tons of left over paint from his jobs and I also buy up "oops paint" anytime I see it for $5 or less.
It's the best way to change up a look without spending a bunch of money. We painted the floors grey.
I sold her old bed and bought this one for less than what I sold the old one for. We had to paint it to because someone previously had the genius idea to paint it baby poo yellow with splotches of funky brown color.
We made curtains out of old white sheets to put over the closet doors. The cute little desk was found curbside and I traded an item for the pink metal vintage chair.
The only thing I specifically bought for this room is the blue train case. I saw it and knew it would match perfect and be a great place for her to store what nots. Everything else was either redone from her old room, or pulled in from other rooms.
We had a lot of fun playing with different ways to add color.
Over all, she loves her "new" room, and I am happy I was able to do it without spending any money!
