Soooo I was on the search for a large statement piece for the market and kept thinking I needed a large bird cage. I've seen so many neat displays done with bird cages but I wanted to do one on kind of an epic level.
I found this massive cage and went to work.
Keep in mind this is just a "progress" photo.
I have clips for the curtains and plan to hang the mirror, then put a small table inside and some other smalls.
But I am wondering, are the ruffles too much?
This is without the ruffles. I am completely on the fence about this one. I like the simplicity without, but I also like it with.
What would you do?
I personally LOVE the ruffles. It adds a bit of softness to the metal cage.Have a great time!

ReplyDeleteHi Nicki! What a cool idea! This is definitely a statement piece! I like the ruffles, but prefer the more simple look...but I can totally see why you're on the fence about it! Good luck!

I love the ruffles. I think they add just the right soft tough the tough metal cage needs.
ReplyDeletewow - this is beautiful! did you see my latest post about my new birdcage? you'll love it!
ReplyDeleteI like the simple look. Both look good.
ReplyDeleteThe ruffles caught my eye immediately! It's such an unusual look that I would leave them there for sure. ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteAmazing birdcage - I am with the others - i do love the ruffles -adds a special touch to the birdcage -
ReplyDeleteGreat find,
Kathy
Ruffles all the way...EVERYTHING goes better with ruffles. :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings & hugs,
Karen
What a great idea and please do keep the ruffles; they soften the look of the birdcage and make it very very original!
ReplyDeleteI like the ruffles! Got to have ruffles ;)
ReplyDeleteRuffles of course! LOL! But that's just me! xo
ReplyDeleteIt needs the ruffles!!! I know what you mean about simplicity--but white ruffles are pleasing to the eye and not visually cluttery. That's my opinion anyway!
ReplyDeleteWell I like it without the ruffles, but it needs something at the bottom. What would it look like with the plain material just kind of sheered on the bottom. Not ruffles but just sheered...know what I mean?

Makes me wanna get a bird!

That is the biggest cage I have ever seen! where the heck did you find it and what did it hold!?!
ReplyDeleteLove the ruffles!
Love the ruffels! Maybe, add some blue or gold?... Business cards, cute flyers,... free bottled water? Or lolly pops! Dumb dumbs! Best of luck!
ReplyDeleteRuffles! oops
DeleteWow what a great statement piece!
ReplyDeleteI like it without the ruffles!
Nicki, Keep the ruffles, honey! They add a lot to the bottom of the cage and finish it off. :-) Sue
ReplyDeleteIf you are going to do something this out-of-the-box then go for the ruffles.
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually a ruffles fan, but I think they look great on that birdcage! I'm loving it!
